Our Story

The Footprint Safaris founders, Warren and Megan, captured in Satemwa, Malawi, 12 years ago, surrounded by iconic Acacia trees that inspired their love for the country.

Footprint Safaris was founded on a shared love for Africa’s wild places and people. Warren and Megan Baty, a husband-and-wife team, bring together expertise in conservation, safari operations, healthcare, and responsible travel, with decades of first-hand experience across Africa’s most iconic landscapes.

After years working across the continent, Warren and Megan chose to return to Malawi—the Warm Heart of Africa—in a permanent and meaningful way. They believe Malawi is a true undiscovered gem, a country of remarkable people, breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and endless adventure.

Every day in Malawi, they are humbled and inspired by its beauty, and through Footprint Safaris, they aim to share this extraordinary country with their American guests. A Malawian experience is unlike any other African journey: humbling, inspiring, and unforgettable. Footprint Safaris brings travelers closer to Malawi’s people, culture, landscapes, and wildlife, creating memories that last a lifetime.
