Meet Warren, Megan (and Satemwa)

Warren is a conservationist at heart, born in South Africa and shaped by a lifelong connection to Africa’s wild places. Trained in Nature Conservation and Hotel Management in the Cape, his career has unfolded across some of the continent’s most iconic wilderness regions. From South Africa and Botswana to Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania, Warren has worked as a safari guide, lodge manager, and senior operations leader—holding roles including Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and Country General Manager. This depth of experience forms the foundation of Footprint Safaris, grounded in authenticity, responsibility, and a deep respect for the land.

Megan brings a complementary path shaped by care, compassion, and connection. Born and educated in the United States, she is an emergency pediatrics and safari nurse whose passion for healthcare and philanthropy led her to work across Malawi, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Beyond the clinical setting, Megan has played an integral role in safari operations and tourism management, embedding herself deeply within Africa’s travel landscape and connecting guests to the continent through thoughtful planning, meaningful experiences, and a commitment to responsible travel.

Together, this husband-and-wife team, along with their adventurous Chocolate Labrador, Satemwa, have invested permanently in Malawi—because they believe it is Africa’s true undiscovered travel gem. Their dream is to connect American travelers to this extraordinary country, offering safari experiences that are profoundly unique: where wildlife, culture, pristine beaches, dramatic scenery, and adventure all come together. Through Footprint Safaris, they are also committed to giving back meaningfully to the country that has given them so much.
