Footprints Safaris operates in two distinct areas, the 5,000 acre Glenstone/Medbury hunting area (primarily bowhunting) and the 100,000 acre Mankazana hunting area (primarily rifle hunting) northeast of Grahamstown.
Various blinds and hides in strategic locations allow great opportunities for shots under 20 yards, while the valley thicket bush hones the hunter’s abilities at walk-and-stalk. The same features can be used for bow hunting and shooting with camera, whichever the client prefers. Locally common species such as Bushpig, Grey Duiker, Blue Duiker, Bushbuck, Cape Grysbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Blesbuck, Kudu, and Hartebeest are more abundant here. Whilst Warthog, Impala, Blue and Black Wildebeest, Nyala, Waterbuck, Bontebuck, and Blesbuck are kept completely seperate to maintain the genetic integrity of each subspecies.
The variety of game available covers over 30 species including Buffalo, Giraffe and exotics from Asia and Europe (most of which require booking 2 years in advance). Just about any trophy, from the enormous Cape Eland to the diminutive Blue Duiker, is possible for the persistent hunter.
